Scuba Duba Do

Allan goes scuba diving at Ka'anapali Beach. I purchased a three dive package from the local dive shop (5 Star Scuba).

The first dive (2/20/08) was a night dive at Black Rock (near the Sheraton Hotel). I arrived just before sunset (6:30pm) and was there in time to watch the cliff dive ceremony. We geared up and were in the water by about 7:00pm. The dive was great! We saw about 15 sleeping turtles, some eels, a cottle fish, crabs, and some lobsters. It was a 30 minute dive at about 30ft.

The second dive (2/21/08) was at Airport Beach which is about 3/4 mile east of black rock. This was a beach dive going to the reef which is just offshore (literally starting at about 10 ft offshore). I was in the water at about 12:30. The dive lasted for about 33 minutes with a maximum depth of 37 ft. I saw a turtle and lots of cool fish. The coral was cool as well.

The third dive (2/22/08) was also at Airport Beach but this one was a scooter dive and was probably the coolest of them all. We started at the beach and swam out to a sandy spot that was about 10 feet deep, then we followed the bottom to the first reef which was about 90 feet deep. After that we turned around and stopped at another reef at 78 feet, we stopped for a few minutes then continued to another reef at 40 feet. I was just about out of air at that point so we booked it back to the shore.
